RIDER DOWN: Jackass...

First off. Let me say that he is ok. he has got a handful of nice raspberries and he's going to be sore as hell in the morning but other than that he is fine...


From my understanding of what happened. icebrkr had to break check because of the bike in front of him. That bike, I believe is unknown, maybe a busa. Jackass started breaking at the same time that icebrkr did. ice stopped Matt tucked the front.

Now I would like to say that this stuff happens. It sucks and Matt & Tim are closer to me that my own real life brother.

But here is my take on what happened. based on Jackass, Tim, tire and road conditions.

I checked out that section of road when I left the scene. The road is somewhat smooth there but blackened from road grim. Matt has brand New tires on his bike and the weather was cold, so it's a safe bet that the tires were cold as well.

All that combined and I can understand how Matt tucked the front end.

by his own admission he was only going about 40 MPH if that when he seen Tim's rear breaks come on.

So I'm guessing that the new COLD front tire, On a greasy crappy part of the road was the main cause of the accident. If it had been warmer out, or the tires were hotter then I believe Matt wouldn't have tucked the front end like he did.

I'm glad Matt is ok and if there is anything I/we can do for him it would be only right that we do.

Matt is the first person to help any rider that goes down. he is the first person who will leave a ride to get his truck to help a fallen rider. he also would NEVER complain about having to get out of bed at anytime day or night to help a fallen rider. it doesn't matter if the rider is part of his club or not. that is just the type of guy Matt aka Jackass is.

Matt, I just want you to know that I Love you man and when I seen you down tongiht I freaked out.

Tim, I love you too man and when I seen you upset about what had happened, I think I shed a tear.

I know I joke around alot with both of you and I know both of you Love me just as much as I love you. But I want you both to know that this really could have been devestating for ME. And I am going to have to ask that you two please don't come on the same ride together cause if you both went down on the same ride, I'd probably cry like a little baby. so for my sake, we are just going to have to split you guys up from now on. cause one of you going down I can deal with. but both of you and at the same time is just too much for me to handle...


Now that being said.

Let sjust chaulk this one up to Sh!t happens, because I know Matt and I give him alot of crap about crashing, but he is one of the best riders I know and tonight could happen to anyone of us at anytime...

Yeah there is plenty of plastic damage. the rear tail section is cracked, the upper and lower is cracked. the the fender has cut marks in it from tims rear sprocket..


Chuck if you could help him out that would be extreamly awesome.

First of all--- OMG.. Second of all.. WHO THE F!*#@ SLAMS ON THEIR BRAKES FOR NO GOOD REAONS AT A GREEN LIGHT?!?! I have to admit, I hit my brakes a little hard.

I feel bad, like it's my fault. But there wasn't anything I could do. All I heard was plastics and scraping--- headlight flash through the air. I couldn't park my bike fast enough-- nor run through traffic fast enough to get to Matt. I remember he pulled out behind me.

After I let off the brakes, my bike jerked forward and then started to fish-tail. I kinda stood up and squeezed my legs together and some how managed to keep it up. Scared the living crap out of me.

All I remember is the tail light. It looked a lot like a Katana type tail light.. Maybe a 02/03 GSX-R??? It was huge.. oval.. Not like the newer bikes.

I'm finally calm. I didn't want to ride anymore after that. But I think I was able to chill out while sitting in traffic on 275 waiting for my air-cooled bike to explode. :Christo_pull_hair:

Anyhow, Matt, I'm sorry and I hope you get better. I'm not sure what else I can offer that others already have-- But if you need anything, let me know, I'll do what I can to get ya back up and rolling.

Apparently, you hit the side of my tire, I got your blue scuff marks on it. I think that's why your front fender is rashed up. :eek:

I'm glad he is going to be O.K. ! IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORST. Ive seen this a bunch of times coming out of the lot , we go out in a small burst and bunched up and were just to close to one another , no time to react safely. LETS ALL BE SAFE.

I was planning on riding next Weds. again with you guys, but as bad as my hip and lower back got twisted, I may be on crutches for a week or two, i can't even put wait on my righ tleg without it shootig pain up in my back. i came up on this after the fact.. but if i was going to guess.. i saw that at that intersection.. there were a whole lot of people trying to stay with there groups.. noodling in and out of lanes and between cars at the light.. so my theory is that someone must have cut into icebrkr and matts lane in front when the light went green.. and caused the brake check.
